The Los Angeles Times ranked this
company "Best of the Bunch" among its internet
competitors, a fact that the company leans on extensively
in its advertisements. We suspect the LA Times
liked the company's team approach to writing (they've got
grammarians on staff, for goodness sake) and exclusive
partnerships with the likes of the American Management
Association, CareerBuilder.com, Military.com, and colleges
throughout the nation. We also suspect that the LA
Times never tried to get an email response from the company. A
generally unresponsive customer service element hurts this
company, and should give prospective customers reason for
concern.
How it works:
Place your secure order on their web site and include a
synopsis of your work history, or attach a copy of
your current resume. Include a good time to call. You'll be assigned a
contact person who will conduct a telephone
interview--gathering more background info, identifying
your strengths and exploring the best marketing approach
for your qualifications. A team of writers goes to work.
You'll receive a draft of the resume for your
approval--suggest any changes until you're happy with the
end product. You'll receive your final resume via
email, as well as 20 hard copies on high quality cotton
bond paper sent via Priority Mail.
Here's what we
liked:
- All writers have real-world business
backgrounds. Each is certified and works in-house
in a team environment, meaning more than one professional
has his hand in the creation of your resume. They believe
this leads to better quality control. That seems a
reasonable conclusion.
- Pricing is fair and up-front. To craft a resume
for an entry level position is $119.00. A mid-career
business professional will pay $155.00. Senior and
C-Level professionals will pay $245.00. A cover letter is a
flat $50.00. All pricing is spelled out and easy to find on
the web site.
- Resume via email and hardcopy is a nice
touch. Not everyone has access to quality paper and a
printer. Company provides 20 copies on cotton bond resume
paper via Priority Mail.
- Adequate number of sample resumes are made
available on the web site to give you an idea of quality of
writing you can expect. We liked what we saw.
- Happiness Guarantee. They're fond of saying,
"our work doesn't stop until you say so." In other words,
they guarantee your happiness with the resume. Until you're
happy, they continue working.
Here's what we DIDN'T
like:
- Emails that went unanswered.
- Increasing number of customer complaints.
In summary, we like the fact that a telephone interview
is a given, not just an option. We like the team approach. We
like the quality of workmanship on the finished product. What
hurts this company above all is the generally unresponsive
customer service.
We would advise customers to consider one of our
"5-Star" picks, such as ResumeWriters.com or GreatResumesFast.com. Both
companies produced exceptional resumes, and did so with
extremely helpful and attentive customer service. Our
in-depth reviews of both companies can be found HERE
and HERE.
Still, if you must, here's the link to the
company.
